More than just a camp!

When you go to Camp New Hope, it will be in June, July, or August. You'll arrive on Sunday afternoon and go to the Hope Center building first. That's where you'll check in. When you arrive, there will be a button waiting for you with your name on it. You'll meet 2 cabin counselors who will be with you every night, even overnight. They'll help you unpack your suitcase. You'll also meet Terri Taylor, the Camp Director. That's her in the picture.

Breakfast is at 8:00. After breakfast, every day, we raise the Camp flag and sing the Camp New Hope song. It's to the tune of "John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidt" and these are the words:

Camp New hope is my favorite camp
It's my camp and your camp, too
Whenever we are here
The campers always cheer
Camp New Hope is my favorite camp!

After breakfast, you'll go to the first of six activities. Each activity will last 50 minutes. Your day won't always have the activities in this order, but it will always include: 1) Arts and Crafts, 2) Outdoor Education (where we learn about and enjoy nature), 3) Music, 4) Swimming at the Pool, 5)Recreation (fun and games that could include a ride on the camp's train, a game, or another fun activity, and 6) a ride on the pontoon boat on the lake.

You will be with the same counselors all week, and you will be in a group of 6 or 7 campers that goes to all the meals and activities together with your counselors.

8:00 Breakfast
8:55 Flag Raising
9:00 First Activity
9:50 Second Activity
10:40 Third Activity
11:30 Lunch
12:30 Rest Time
1:30 Fourth Activity
2:20 Fifth Activity
3:10 Sixth Activity
4:00 Large Group activity with all the campers- sometimes this is a big game for everyone, and sometimes it's a visitor, but it's always fun.
5:00 Evening Meal
6:00 Frisbee throw, basketball throw, bowling, air hockey, or other activity with cabin mates.
8:00 (approximately) Snack time
8:30 Get ready for bed, then sleep-- it was a busy day!
