Volunteer Opportunities

Blue Stripe
More than just a camp!

Volunteers built Camp New Hope, and volunteer opportunities are plentiful here. Rewards of Volunteering Many people volunteer to be a "friend for the day" during summer camp, and find themselves wanting to come back again and again. Our Board of Directors is made up of volunteers who share their professional expertise and leadership talent. College and high school students may wish to volunteer for a day to find out more about employment opportunities in the field of human services.

A delightful and special way to volunteer is as an entertainer. Do you play music? Can you demonstrate a dance? Do you like to tell stories, paint faces or put on a puppet show?

Special Olympics Young Athletes Volunteers help to engage and guide kids from 2 to 8 years old in this program. Camp New Hope is the local site for this statewide program. Young Athletes introduces children with intellectual disabilities, their peers and families to the world of Special Olympics by pursuing the following goals: Engage children with intellectual disabilities through developmentally appropriate play activities designed to foster physical, cognitive and social development; Welcome family members of children with intellectual disabilities to the Special Olympics network of support; Raise awareness about the abilities of children with disabilities through inclusive peer participation, demonstrations and other events.

If you are interested any of our volunteer opportunities, please contact the Camp New Hope Office at (217) 895-2341.
