Stay at camp for a week--
So your child is going to camp for the first time? Camp New Hope has been the very first camp experience for hundreds- and hundreds- of campers. We have low staff turnover and a high staff to camper ratio. You will recognize staff year after year at Camp New Hope, and we’ll recognize you! We have been right here on the shore of Lake Mattoon since 1974, and we love what we do.
We serve people who have developmental disabilities-- of all ages. Our youngest overnight campers are nine years old. We schedule everyone to attend during a week with people of the same age group, and we enjoy campers of all ages.
--Or come to day camp-- a great first camp experience.
This camp was built by parents of children who have developmental disabilities. We know that our kids may need extra time to warm up to a new place and a new routine. Why not see how you do at sending your child to day camp? If that goes well, you may be ready to send your child to overnight camp next summer. Will your child be ready? You will know.
